Well where does someone start...just wanted to say whoever is praying for my daughter Alyssa I greatly appreciate it because this bitch messed my baby up and don't even have the nerve to call and see what the hell she did to my baby or even try to apologize for it which I would never accept it anyways! But she ain't even trying!!!!!! And also claims to have cared for my daughter and this is NOT love if you ask me and if you can drive impaired with my daughter in the car she could have just brought her home where she would have at least been SAFE!!! Now I get to sit here and wait while my baby has a machine breath for her!! Justice will be done!!!

the driver was going 90 over train tracks tire broke car flipped over the 14 yr old was thrown from the car is in critical condtion but is getin better as the days go by please eveeryone pray for her. she has no brain damage that is known of and no paralaises so far PRAY PLEASE EVERYONE THAT SHE WILL BE OK AND THAT SHE IS ABLE TO BE A KID AGAIN!!!!!!

The sheriff's dept did at one time run a lot of radar on Braun just west of the tracks, several deputies USED to live along Braun there. I believe they may of actually of used their own driveways. My understanding is that SPD got pissed that they were running radar in Sturtevant and basically complained to the Sheriff saying to get out of Sturtevant...Which Sturtevant has done in the past when the Sheriff's dept ran radar in Sturtevant....I believe this was before Marchki was police chief. Maybe the chief can open up communication with the sheriff's dept and alow them to ASSIST in the trouble spots in Sturtevant until spd gets or alocates the manpower to the problem areas....

Don't count on it, Marschke was the main problem, he absolutely throws a hissy when the Sheriff's Dept. comes into Sturtevant. If the Sheriff Dept. is runing radar he will immediately position himself in order to make traffic slow down before the sheriff squad can clock them. There is no way he is going to let RASO into Sturtevant to help. The Sheriff Dept. has tried iin the past to run radar on the main roads 90th,STH 11, Braun, Wisconsin. As soon as a stop is made a call is made to the sheriff's Dept. or a squad races from the PD to position themselves in front of the sheriff squad. Let me just say if you believe one word Marschke is tellin you youre nuts. I have dealt with this guy first hand and the crap he pulls defies logic. If i even began to tell you the stunts he has pulled in the past I am certain no one would believe it.

I just did , why the sudden interest, how do you know the sheriff's dept. is thin. I suspect ypu are affiliated with Marschke or SPD. I'm not interested in getting into a pissing match, if you are afffiliated then you know what I am talking about, enough said!

Oh by the way I live in the Village and I pay taxes and my kid almost got creamed, I tried to approach it in a professional manner for 2 years, nothin. Got blown off and screwed with. I agree the entire area is in need of attention. But what I'm tellin you is don't count on Marschke lettin State Patrol or RASO help out. There is a problem and he is understaffed you would think he would be begging for assistance, nope same games.

I know I was one of the loudest complainers about censorship, but all along, they allowed this type of garbage while picking and choosing which regular bloggers to delete over minor transgressions.
It is always a tragedy when a young person is harmed. Why regurgitate such ugliness at this point and publicly on the JT site? Do the circumstances really matter once the damage is done?
While I totally understand why you did it, next time maybe just post the link; don't copy it all here. I hate to even see it. Makes me sick.

The news blogs have always been more contentious than the our blogs.
You could have a story in the JT about a grandmother who died in her sleep at the age of 96 who is known for baking cookies and knitting scarves for all the neighborhood children and left all her money to charity and there are some on that site who would still attack her.
They let someone register with the screen name of bullcrap!
Y'know, the Journal Times is damned if they do and damned if they don't. I don't envy them. They hang out a news story and it doesn't take long for people to start foaming at the mouth. If they don't post the story, they're accused of not reporting the news.
Perhaps they've taken a hands-off approach to the blogs. They don't announce changes in policy, so who knows? But I do know from administrating other boards that you can't control everything that is posted on an open site - or, if you do try to micromanage it, then people will stop posting. I've always tried to set a tone and develop relationships with the mods and regs. They're the ones who really control what's happening, anyway. If things are healthy, the regs chase the dreck out for you. That's how it used to be on the Journal Times' blogs. Then someone went power mad or something.
I still read the Journal Times for local news. With all the blogging that has been done about issues with the Sturtevant Police Department (and I know NOTHING about this), you'd think someone would look into the possibility of a story there. Maybe they have. I don't know how the Journal Times works. They don't seem to like to talk WITH the community much, just AT us. The impression I get is that "orders" come from on high (Lee Enterprises), and then they just execute them. Maybe truly local newspapers are a thing of the past.
It's a lot easier to run a commentary site like this than one that reports the news and also allows commentary. We don't even have to try to be objective, nor do we have to answer to a boss or advertisers. But then I look at what the Racine Post is doing and start to think that there is a better way . . .

Yep, it is gone. Glad I grabbed it when I did (with regrets to KK's stomach). Took 2 days for them to dump it. Sad.
My stomach can take it, guys. Sorry. It is just so sad. These are young kids and some of the players names are ones I recognize. Someone mentioned once that they shouldn't allow comments on actual news stories. Maybe they shouldn't on tragic stories since anonymous posters can't behave themselves like adults.
I guess if you are going to control a website, then control it. I remember mentioning to Rob at the first blogger meeting that there was some way off-base, potentially dangerous comments, posted in a news story (he was the online editor then) He immediately took out his cell phone and called someone at the JT to find the offensive material and get it off of there asap. There is no excuse for this stuff to have lasted 2 days. If you post it, monitor it.
Makes me think that it was your blog, aa, that finally facilitated the removal of this garbage from their site. I'm sure they check to see what we'all are up to. More interesting reading here than there.
