Comedian George Carlin Dead at Age 71
I remember his bust in Milwaukee. Chief Brier's boys ran him into a chain link fence on the way to the paddy wagon. And it was all thrown out. Because we had freedom of speech in America then. Some people claim that we still do.

shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, tits, fart, turd, twat I once did the seven word skit in an english class, 5 day suspension for it. Lenny, Pryor, Carlin all of my heroes are gone. RIP em good George. Fuck to the FCC and the jt!
Yes, it was a sad moment this morning when I saw the headline. I don't remember Lenny Bruce either, but George Carlin and Richard Pryor were amazing comedians. Thanks anon for saying the seven words in his memory.
I also miss other comedians who left this earth far too early: Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Mitch Hedberg.
This is anon from above, wow that sounds wierd, anyway, Also too young for Bruce but you gotta love the old VHS machine now and then. Had a dirty old Uncle introduce me to Bruce at an early age as well as Pryor and George. Agreed with kkdither, damn death always has to get in the way.
Been following you all around for a while now. Hope y'all settled in and can get back to commenting on the daily shit that happens around us. Don't have a heart attack people, some anon posters are just to lazy to sign up.
Thanks for commenting, anon. If you'd like, you can do like the old Journal Times site and type in a name when you post. Or not. All contributions are welcome.
Seen him live in 1978. He ended the show with an update on the seven words. He had a scroll of paper a mile long and just went through seemingly every curse word imaginable. I never laughed so hard in my life.
Here is another one worth remembering; Rodney Dangerfield. I saw him in concert in Milwaukee many years ago. I never laughed so hard. I was actually crying though most of the show. He had timing like no one else.
I remember a woman yelling out that she wanted his tie. He agreed to give it to her for a kiss. He invited her on stage and she "got what she asked for" he really embarrassed her with that kiss and the "feel up" that came with it. Still wish it would have been me. He was one of the greats.

I guess I was too young for Lenny Bruce, but Richard Pryor was a comic god in my estimation.

You have nothing if you forget how to laugh.
The afterlife just got a little funnier...wonder if you can say those seven words in heaven? I have a feeling he will be finding out real fast!
I dunno hale-bopp. He was a committed aetheist. If there's an afterlife, it's probably OK to swear where he's going.
