Islamic Marriage expert claims it’s OK for Muslim men to marry ONE YEAR OLD babies. I guess they figure that if it is OK for Mohammad it’s ok for them. As an older man of fifty-plus years, Muhammad married a mere child of six years old and co-habited with her when she was 9 years old.
And to think that some people say we should learn about this religion, and permit “Openness” and “Understanding”. I say protect your babies and don’t let Islam achieve their goal of domination of the US and Europe.
Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed. You're looking at ancient ways through 21st century eyes. Just another way of hate mondering. Look at our own past. Child labor, sweatshop garment industy. Folks indentured into trades at five and six. Chuld coal miners.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to raise a fist in ire and point fingers, but when you compare our own history, four fingers are pointing back at us.
Huck, you're exactly right. It's the complete rejection of all modernity and progress in favor of an ancient lifestyle. Ultra-ultra-ultra-conservatism.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, in our history when we made it OK to marry babies. Huck, I know we dont see eye to eye, but are you really sondining this practive by the "Religion of Piece (Of child ass)"
ReplyDelete*Sorry, condoning
ReplyDeleteNow my question (surprise! I have a question!) is who is this guy? Is he a respected, leading Muslim scholar or just Joe Muslim who said something in front of a camera that a bunch of people jumped on? I tried googling his name, but the first several pages of references are all to this one story. It's like he magically popped into existence the moment he said this.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a dangerous game to play when you lump large groups of people together based on the words of one man. Think about how much fun media in the Islamic world could have with some of our boneheaded Christian leaders who want to wipe Islamic countries off the map...wait they ALREADY do that!
And I could have done that yesterday by tarring all Christians based on what Robert Hood said about Mars...but I didn't...I was smart enough to know he didn't speak for all christians or all conservatives.
So, seriously, who is this guy? And was there a massive google bombing campaign to make sure no one could find any other info on him?
hale-bopp: Good point. I found the same problem with Google. It's all versions of this one story, identifying him as a "Saudi marriage officiant" -- so he can apparently wed people, which is not by itself enormous authority.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, when you look into MEMRI, the organization which has disseminated this clip so widely, you find that this seems to fit a pattern.
Christians are from Mars, Muslims are from Venus.
ReplyDeleteorbs - you are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI believe (but am not certain) that this is the same idiot that recently lectured on the correct method for beating your wife.
ReplyDeletePlease do not politicize this issue by taking a bash at conservatives. Conservatives have been pushing Jessica's law in this country and have mostly been thwarted in the most liberal states.
I do not believe any sane person from any spot on the political spectrum would condone any aspect of this nonsense.
One of the main definitions of "conservative" has to do with change. Progressives favor change, conservatives want to keep the status quo, and ultra-conservatives want to go back to the status quo ante (the way things used to be).
ReplyDeleteThe main impetus of religious fundamentalism -- whether Islamic or Christian or Jewish -- is a rejection of progress and modernity in favor of returning to the past. Religious fundamentalists are, therefore, ultra-conservatives.
This is not bashing, just textbook definition.
