The JT Blog site

Well, it looks like they really screwed it up good this time. They moved all the blog entries way down on the page. At first, I thought my browser was having trouble painting the screen. After a couple of refreshes, I realized what they had done.

Once there, I noticed that VERY few comments are being posted. Could be that many people are just not seeing the entries. Seems to me to be fairly idiotic. Even Gray Kitty complained.

  1. The best way not to be bothered by it, I found, is to simply choose alternatives instead.

  2. It's a browser issue, I think. The blogs appear normal in Firefox, but at the bottom of the page in Internet Explorer. That "Port" software was buggy from the start. Reloading/refreshing a page there used to take eons. I'm sure they'll eventually fix it.

Remember, they stated that the blogs are not a priority for them, and the blogs definitely are not a money maker. The Journal Times generates hits by hanging out fresh meat in the news section. Those stories on the weekend murders had comments in high double and even triple digits. Of course, most of those were of the variety that the Journal Times once espoused that their new site was meant to stop. Apparently, now it's OK again to hack and slash at each other in the comments. Their policies shift with each new day.

Poor Journal Times. Always reaching out to what they think the community should be, and always shrinking back from the reality of what the community already is. Why not just accept reality? Then you don't have to keep all the lies straight in your head.

  3. It's always been the clicks that count. ($$$) Not the content. Not the humans behind the content. Cheers! Party on!

  5. I'm using IE7. It paints the threads below the "latest members" box. I would say that you need to scroll down about halfway before the threads appear. They, of course, used to be right at the top of the page. I'll bet many think the damn thing is broken.
