Wannabe expose' reporter

I figured that I'd have getten an email by now from the wannabe reporter, but no such luck. I know all of the folks on the Wisconsin Assistive Technology Council and have dealt with each of them. I know what is moving and shaking in the AT world. My comments were based on fact when I questioned if the JT ever checked anything they got as copy for it's pages. Just a bit disheartening that they can't be more proactive and the wannabe appears to have been full of hot air. Another typical day from a typical kitty litter box liner.

  2. I asked the JT on a blog post if they ever checked facts when handed a "information" sheet that is really just advertising. It had to deal with the Senior insert from Wednesday. There was a little "newsy" item about "Free powered wheelchairs if you qualify." These guys also advertise late night. Mobility scooters and so forth.

They put the "paperwork" together to submit to Medicare, assure you that you'll be covered, have you sign on the dotted line, deliver a cheap peice of crap, and then a few weeks later you get a bill with the explanation that you were denied medicare reimbursment. Sorry charlie, you owe big time. it's a contract and you are screwed.

Not a peep from the JT about it either.

  3. Huck, what about the Scooter Store? Is that one legitimate?

  4. kk, we're thinking the same. Where mom lives now, half the people are motorized. She said the other day that she might like a scooter. 87 years old and busted her hip a couple of years ago. If anyone qualifies, she should.

  5. Proper way is to have a physical therapist evaluate her. Then they mark the marks, Dr. okays it, and THEN you go in for one. Don't just go in and sign for one.
