I've been following Ike closely,so I've seen some of these pictures already. The intensity of these hurricanes just floor me. My heart goes out to the victims of this storm.
I've been following it too. My BIL and his wife live in TX, as do many of my forum members and their family members. FL,AL,S.C.,LA,TX.. we have people all over that are affected by this. Thankfully, only one I know of has been stranded, in Houston.
Have you tuned into the Chicago news stations lately? The remnants of Ike blew threw here too with all that rain we recently got, but Chicago took the brunt of it. Expressways underwater and closed. They were showing traffic backups and kids skateboarding on closed ramp overpasses. It was a real mess. Who would think this far north and west, we would have to worry about hurricanes?
KK, I believe Chicago got a double whammy...Tropical Storm Lowell hit the Pacific coast of Mexico, its remnants came up through Tucson last week, and then its leftover moisture COMBINED with the remnants of Ike along a cold front!
Good post HB. The doo doo really hit the fan with Ike. Those folks down there really have their work cut out for them now.
ReplyDeleteVery scary pics. My DH was telling me about one picture he saw.. dead fish in a cyclone fence. I've yet to find it.
ReplyDeleteThis nasty Ike has traveled far in a short amount of time. I was just reading a story about Ohio getting hit with it
