Here is the tree I watch every day. It's very cool to watch it change.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

  3. Beautiful, DA. That is the one thing I miss down here....the darn leaves just fall off those Florida oak trees....no colors at all.

  4. I remember seeing those scenes while running this time of year in Racine. Brings back memories.

  6. Oh, there are definitely seasons here. I would say there are MORE seasons than in Wisconsin.

For example, May to late June is the early, dry summer. Late June to about the third week of July is the early monsoon. Late July/early August is the late hot monsoon break. The last three weeks of August is the late monsoon. About the first week of September starts the late dry summer leading up to the first cold front in late September which starts early fall. That's already up to SIX seasons, and I am not even halfway through the year!

Of course, as I say, seasons here are subtle...seasons up north bash you over the head :)

  7. what a beautiful tree! I am on the lookout for a good tree to get some leaves from. I want to iron them with wax paper and use for decorating the table for Thanksgiving. I do not have any yet in our yard :(

  8. There is a tree in my neighborhood that I wish I would have photographed for you all... It turns bright red/orange and when the sun hits it... whooo! Most of it's leaves are unfortunately down already. Sorry. Next year for sure!

  9. Great pics DA. I've noticed, too, how some of the trees change quickly. The sugar maple on 12th and Main has lost a lot of leaves and there'll probably be only one more pic.

  10. If it wasn't such a crappy rainy day I would have gotten a couple pics of the tree today. The leaves were just pouring off of the tree! Looked pretty cool to see them all blowing off. It's practically bare nekkid now!

I'll try tomorrow if I feel better.
