My mom mentioned the flooding the other day for some reason, but seeing the pictures makes it all the more real again. I lucked out, but I know a couple whose house was flooded to the first floor. When he first returned and opened the door, water came out.
The second to last picture is my parents street. The house you see there (the big 2 story white house) is my husbands familys house. Strangely enough they didnt get more than a couple of inches on the floor.. my parents house which is across the street was flooded to about 6 inches to the ceiling.. They are still working on getting it put back together.. crazy..
One of the pics was down the street from where a friend of mine lives. They had water up to their back door entrance which is about 6 feet off of the ground. We got water in our basement, it wasnt too bad but unfortunatly our neighbors were not that lucky.

ReplyDeleteI live on the north side,so I didn't get to see much of the flooding. I remember the blogs about them.
ReplyDeleteWow. Thanks for the reminder. That was crazy. Yep, unless you are the unfortunate, it is easy to forget those things.
