I knew you for thirty years. You were always willing to heat up the occasion on a moments notice. One of the reliable ones, you never gave me grief. Sure, the years were starting to show, but you still kept on keeping on. Sadly I got the news yesterday morning that you no longer could take the strain of our relationship. When you held my breakfast hostage, I knew you meant business and could no longer handle your many years. After seeing if there was a way to give you a transplant to allow you more years of existence with me, I found out you're too old and past your prime. I guess it's time to put you down, but I'll try to save parts of you before I bury you with the other detritus of my life.
Rest in peace my Kenmore microwave. We had a long run. You'll be happy to know I've chosen one of your offsprings to carry on in your place. A kenmore convection/microwave. Moving on up. Hope she's as steadfast as you were.

I'm sorry for your loss Huck... It's never easy saying goodbye. Just think of all the good meals it's brought you through the years..
I was choked up to read of its passing. The young ones are quicker and probably less toxic, but they just aren't the same....
My sympahties, Huck. My microwave, circa 1978, is in on display in a frakkin' musueum!
Jeez, mine has to be 20 years old. Maybe I should take out a life insurance policy?
I bought a new compact, flashy, high power one a few years back. I wanted something smaller. This little jack rabbit coupe trips the circuit breaker when the dishwasher is running or if the refrigerator kicks in. I shoulda known better...
Huck, you gotta get off the pipe!
I made a smooth move myself yesterday, put a cup of coffee in mine to heat it up. Instead of putting it in for 1 minute 15 seconds, I accidently hit an additional zero. 11 minutes 50 seconds...what a mess! Oh ya, it was hot, half the cup gone, boiled out...good thing I caught it in around 2 minutes.
May she rest in peace. And may your younger, sexier replacement bring you many years of happiness.
Thirty years on the same microwave. Wow! It served you well.
