Need help my daughter lost her clarinet.
I know we're not a lost and found site but I sure could use you guys help. My daughter goes to Jerstad Middle School and on a Friday a few weeks ago she left her clarinet out side against the wall by their gym.She forgot about it until the following Monday and it's been gone since. She was second seat in the class (second best) and now has to sit in the back row and fail until we either get hers back or we can find another for her to play. Who the hell would steal a kids clarinet? Any who if anyone knows where I can get a cheap one please let me know. Thanks in advance you guys.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Considering the times, I'd try 7 mile fair (you know what I mean) or a pawn shop, or possibly I guy smoking something out of a weird looking bong.

With my kids, we did a lot of business with Schmitt Music in uptown. They are very honest people.
I would go there in person, ask if anyone tried to get an estimate or sell a clarinet recently. You might make a few calls to other music shops to see if they have any information either.
Be honest with Schmitt, tell them what happened, your employment situation, etc. They would probably rent you one on a monthly basis for not that much cost. You could also check to see if the school could locate one for you to use until you figure out something else.
Who would steal a kids instrument? They are expensive and times are tough. People are desperate.
Abby, post a blog on the Journal Times site, too. They have a lot more readers. Maybe someone will know of a reasonably priced used one, or maybe someone would even donate one for a good cause.
Abby,you might want to try Gary's Music World on the corner Main and High St. They know me there. I bought a guitar there for my son and got a great deal. Ask for Gary or Craig.

Hi All thanks for all of the help and all of the good leads. I went to Schmidts and got an old one fixed for 70.00......Well get it back Friday! Since she'll be out until Friday now because she needs her DTP shot and I can't get her in until Friday she's been kicked out of school until she gets it. Just not a good week.
