I got to work around 3:30am, took a step out of my car,
and proceeded to do a very crooked rendition of the splits
at record speed.
I stayed on the ground bewildered and in pain,
deciding whether to attempt getting up or waiting for
somebody else to get to work and help...
I made it up and in but it took a LONG time,
I have a very very very unhappy back leg muscle,
very unforgiving, being old sucks!
Hope your day has been a better one!!!!
***UPDATE***
I went to the DR today, thanks again Abby,
my dear, ailing chauffeur!!! You're wonderful!!!
I tore a not-so-nice part of my back leg muscle,
bring on the good drugs, I have 4-6 weeks to be in pain :(
Happy Monday to me.....
it hurts to sit, it hurts to walk, I'm having a very rough day :(
ReplyDeleteOuch! You didn't gracefully follow that up with a back walk over?
ReplyDeleteI fell forward on some ice a couple of years ago. Hit my knee so hard I thought for sure my leg was broken. The school kids stood around and watched as I sat up and assessed whether I could get up or not. When I walked past them, bloody in several places, I asked, "How long would you have let me lay there before coming to help?"
I hope you feel better soon, Liz!
Oh gosh! I hope you are feeling better by now.
ReplyDeleteA nice long soak in a hot tub sounds in order!
she wouldn't be able to get up again. the couch is hard enough for her to get off of...
ReplyDeleteSo you didn't do the PEEWEE HERMAN thing? "I ment to do that"?....AWWW sorry......... I'm coming over....what do ya need?.don't forget I know where you live.........LIZ I hope you feel better soon...and seriously.I want to stop over and see you. E-mail me...........XOXO
ReplyDeleteyeah,my parking lot was slippery too this morn. Had to take baby steps to my car, lest I fall.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon,Liz.
Ouch.....
ReplyDeleteNo ballet classes for you today...
Buzz Lightyear would not be impressed, I DID NOT fall with style...
ReplyDeleteI was told today would be alot worse for the pain, it's about the same, so I guess that's good???
I put myself on light duty standing still in one place today, that should help :)
I think I still have a couple vicodins left from my foot surgery, so I will take one if needed !
woo hoo, vicodin is my friend, too bad I only have 2 left :(
ReplyDeleteI was only at work about an hour before torquing my leg muscle again... foot slipped on a stupid ice cube... I didn't fall but my foot shot out and I screamed before being paralyzed with pain for a few minutes and freaking out my very concerned grill lady :(I need a bubble, cushioned with lots of padding, and I need it NOW!
So I guess that means bowling is out for a while?
ReplyDeleteTake care!
you use your arms more than your leg bowling, I can shuffle up to the line then just throw it like a little old granny!!
ReplyDeletecreative fixes, don't give up so easy, geez!
Get well soon.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you need lessons in how to walk? :P
ReplyDeleteMuscle tears take forever to heal and are very painful. Take care of yourself. You have some major coordinating to do next month, I believe.
And watch out for your lizard's amorous intentions. Now that you're crippled, he might make some moves.
Maybe you should get a roll of bubble rap and roll up in it!
ReplyDeletebut then if you were to fall down, it might sound like you are farting pretty hard!!!!
ooo, the bubble wrap!! I forgot about that. I did celebrate bubble wrap day and ordered some in cool colors, I could create a cool bubble wrap 'cast', I'll just avoid falling!! :)
ReplyDeleteOrbs, Max knows somethings not right with 'mom' and has been going especially crazy trying to get to me, don't know if his intentions are to take advantage or take care of me :)~
