She shouldn't have touched them (human scent) or specifically hand fed that one, esp. since she had already bitten off of that english muffin. Our germs are so different than theirs and can be deadly to them.
One year while deer hunting, a small doe walked up to me, it was close enough I could touch her nose with the end of my rifle.
I must have play with her for 45 minutes. She would step back when I touched her nose then lay down. I had a pocket full of salted in the shell peanuts so I would bonk her in the head with one. She would get up and look at me like I was nuts!
I was afraid to chase her away thinking someone would shoot her.
She must have decide she had enough of me and walked away.
That is so cool! These deer sure do seem tamer than the ones I've seen in the national and state parks.
This reminds me a story-When I was kid, we had a veternarian who lived next door to us Up North. Somebody brought in a fawn that was hit a car. This fawn survived, but one of his hind legs had to be amputated. So neighbor ended up keeping him in one of his pens in his yard. Everyday my sister and I would go over there to pet "Billy" and feed him potato skins.
that is the coolest thing I've ever seen!!

Well, for all we know, the meat the people were eating was venison.
