While Hale-Bopp was posting silly stuff on a kid farting on a bus, I Google "Fart" and found this infared scientific study of the emission of flatus. You will have to provide the auditory and olfactory simulated effects yourself.
Infrared Fart - The best home videos are here

oh. my. LOL
When it is black coming out, you have to wonder what went in to cause that! Oh my, for sure!
Okay, I am skeptical of the authenticity of this video. IR cameras usually don't pick up emissions from gas. I have looked at dry ice with an IR camera and you see the dry ice as being very cold but not the "steam" coming off it. Additionally, dark colors usually mean cold temperatures (which is definitely and I would be worried about this guy's internal body temp! Look at his body...no place on his body is near as cold as the alleged fart!
Still, I have a REALLY old IR camera in the basement that has been here longer than I have (and I have never seen it work). It needs a new cable (which I can get at Radio Shack). If it works, I'll eat a really big howl of beans and see what happens...now that's science!
Wow. now that's dedication HB! You'd conduct an experiment like that just for us? ;)
Well, I might have to tap into a local robotics club to get teenage boys...I might have trouble spontaneously producing that much gas!
Okay, I am officially stupid. I even said something about his cold fingers in the first post. Why are his fingers cold? I bet his fingers are still cold from whatever it is he is holding in his left hand and spraying to create the effect. At least use a warm spray next time!
A can of black spray paint? Maybe he tried it before in his right hand and the wind didn't create the effect he wanted.
Now I totally understand Global Warming......
You're probably right HB. Getting it off the internet it wasn't IR but more like a guy with the charcoal farts. But it sure was funny.
Hale, when you conduct your experiment, try lighting a few, too, OK?
I think I see a Myth-buster episode comimg....
