Last Friday, my son and I were out enjoying the mild weather that we were having that day. We decided to take the dog for a walk along the beach behind the lighthouse and Shoop Park. I was amazed by the snow and ice that was still on the lake. Antarctica as my son discribed it. I ventured out on the ice to take a few pictures. Be careful folks, there are a couple of weak spots!
Nice pics Drew....find any golfballs while you were there?
ReplyDelete"cool" pics!
ReplyDeleteLOL logjam! Lose some?
ReplyDeleteBe careful drew... we don't want to have to come fish you out! Brrrrr. Really neat pictures!
ReplyDeleteNeat pics, but, yes, please be very careful out there, drew. I know it's safe for people who know what they are doing, but I'm not comfortable on the ice. I skated on the zoo pond as a kid, and swam in the lake a lot, but I don't like the idea of being out on ice over a lake or river.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your concerns, my friends. Having gone ice fishing Up North, I've learned how to "read" ice. If you noticed, on the top picture, on the left hand corner, that is the limit of walkable ice. The rest is thin. As for rivers, I wouldn't dare.
ReplyDeleteI'm always loosing my balls...(wait a minute, that didn't come out right).
ReplyDeletelogjam, I'm starting to worry about you...
ReplyDeletecool pics Drew, with the weather we've had, I'm surprised there is still any, especially that much left
Thanks Drew
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I miss most about Racine is that beautiful lake. Thanks for the pictures.
Thanks for posting those pictures, Drew. I remember wasting time between appts on Saturdays parked at the lake. Was a nice place to take a breather.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comments everybody!! I appreciate them. I'm going try to get more pictures from around town, if I come across something.
