I've called them a number of times (not them actually, just compaq/microsoft,etc) and they were very prompt in answering the phone. Now I know why...each person there has their own line.
I have a friend whose son went to work for a software company. B/4 he did, he spent six or eight months in India in an immersion program, learned the language, etc...landed a great job! Duh!
I try to avoid tech support, especially phone support, if at all possible. Some of the big sites now have interactive chat rooms where you can talk to a techie. You usually have to wait awhile for one to become available. And then you'll notice a lag time in his/her responses because s/he is dealing with a number of clients at once. That has saved me from phone support a couple of times.

Tech support... From my experience, either you get great support, or it is absolutely terrible.
Sometimes, you just have to say thanks, call back later, and hope for a better technician.
