Voting is so easy, even my cat did it.
I live in District 1, Ward 1. I voted at 11:30 this morning and I was only the 22nd voter. A poll worker assured me that was a good showing thus far for our district and ward. I know that more people vote during lunch and especially after work, but I'm still smarting from the poor turnout for the primary and I suspect we won't beat 20% participation this time.
Just so you all know, if this kind of crappy showing at the polls is going to be how it is in Racine, then I'm going to continue with my crappy carping, complaining, and criticizing of everything and anything. Not only is that a threat, it's a promise. If you don't care enough to vote for whomever is supposed to lead us for the next two years, then you'll just have to tolerate the usual onslaught of gibberish from me, too.
Ha! Party on.

I would if I could....and besides we like your gibberish, honest, Orbs!
I would have voted for Madame Zoltar!
I have a feeling even those who do vote will have to put up with the gibberish as well.
Gibber away, orbs, gibber away (is that a word?)
It's 3:58 pm and I just voted at SC Johnson school and was #185. So I'm legal to complain about the government. My kitty would kill me if I tried to put a sticker on her! This is about to get interesting.
Keep me posted, guys. I wouldn't want to remove that sticker, Orbs....
Hey Orb's:
That's my HOME district. 2000 block of Grange Ave. I miss it dearly, and wish I was in my old house and COULD vote.
I wish I could vote. Being a Calendonia resisdent, I can't. I hope there is a better turn out for this election than it was in the primarys.
Orb's:
OOP'S I did it again. I think I was in the 11th district.
When I lived in the 1200 block of Wis. Ave. I don't remember what district that was? Maybe 2nd?
It suddenly dawned on me that the 1st includes downtown.
Any early results?
From the Journal Times: Wards Reporting: 7/34 | Robert Turner: 1,062 (48%) | John Dickert: 1,168 (52%)
Too early and too close to tell. I'd turn on WRJN, but I"m afraid that that guy who was weeping and gnashing his teeth when the Beckerphile was arrested will be on.
Toad, yeah, 1200 Wisconsin is District 1.
Charlie emailed me and pleaded with me to call PETA...
I am going out on a limb here, but I know when we owned property in Turner's area, he was supportive of us...we were rehabing it...spent $30,000 in the rehab. He was behind me when the bldg inspector (Laura Thrasher at that time) got on her high horse about one puzzle piece (this is on Winslow, mind you) fines us $137 for one puzzle piece. I called Rob and he tried to help..couldn't..the puzzle piece was outside of the dumpster. But no one was on the beer bottles next door. Nope, not a sole...
We got out of Dodge. And they wonder why people don't want to rehab that area????
I voted around 4:00 p.m. and was number 213 my father voted close to 7:00 p.m. and was number 295... doest feel like a great turn out.. but it was nice to be able to vote in a city election again. Being in Sweden I can only vote federal with absentee ballot..
For everyone's information, that sticker adorned Charlie for approximately 2 seconds. I had the camera in my right hand, ready to shoot, put on the sticker, snapped the shot, and he had the sticker off. Thing is, Charlie has a fetish for sticky things. He loves Scotch tape and duct tape and electrical tape - anything sticky. He chews it up and tries to eat it. My little insinkerator on legs. I have to keep all tape hidden away. He goes nuts when I mail a package and use the clear sealing tape. That I keep locked in a file cabinet drawer.
Journal Times: "John Dickert becomes the mayor of Racine" http://www.journaltimes.com/articles/2009/05/05/local_news/doc4a00f4a0b9512204490630.txt(Lol - first comment on the sotry moderated because of swearing.)
I noticed that a lot of the bloggers were already bashing the guy. Duh...give him a chance, already. At least give him a week! Okay, how about a day????
LOL....he couldn't be any worse than Becker, could he????
Orbs, let the gibberish begin!
