RIP Koko

Koko Taylor, The Queen of Blues has passed away. How sad. I had the opportunity to see her in Milwaukee at an afternoon concert. A guy in the audience had a heart attack. (He was transported and turned out to be ok) She stopped the concert and did everything she could to ensure the guy got the help he needed.
Saw her again at Harbor Fest.

She was one great singer........

If you have never heard her music, I recommend searching for it. Even if you don't like the blues.

I saw her in college. Yep, she even played those small Iowa colleges. Great show. Great performer.

I saw her in Franksville; she played at the Kraut Festival one year. She could shout the blues!

My husband and I were at Lee's Unledded Blues club in Chicago at an open mic nite and she came in ang graced the stage with the house band. I too saw Lonnie and Ronnie Baker Brooks at the Brat Stop and had the opportunity to meet him Otis Clay, and Coco Montoya back stage. (My husband used to your w/ Otis) She really paved the way for some of the up and coming artists of today.
