Patrick Cudahy Meats

Yesterday a friend of mine and I took a ride to see the devastation at Patrick Cudahy meat plant. Due to the layout of the factory, we were not able to get very close, but we did get a couple of pictures. These pictures where taken about a block away from the plant.

You can see where the brick walls fell because of the heat and in one picture blown out windows.

There was a big “digger” with a claw inside the ruins hauling out refuse. Apparently, there still must be a concern of fire; every time the claw picked up a bunch of debris, we could see a huge blast of water squirt into the area where the operator just removed some stuff.

Looking at the mess, it is truly amazing there wasn’t more damage to the rest of the structures, they are all connected together!

All the firefighters involved need a huge ”thank you”, from the community. Even Racine set equipment and firefighters to assist.

I heard on the news, Patrick Cudahy employs around 2,000 people, it be great to have more companies around like them!

I'm sure they run multiple shifts. It is a miracle that no one was seriously injured. I wonder if the timing of this, with the holiday, was a benefit. I sure hope those people can get back to work.

It is a tragedy on all ends. Many people out of work. One guy arrested in Milwaukee and in jail; his brother, from California, a decorated Iraq war veteran... who knows what they will charge them with and how long they will have to pay for their foolishness.

Great pictures, SER.

Thanks, SER. Back in the day, I used to drive to Milwaukee by hugging the lake all the way. I was thinking of going that way again just to check out Patrick Cudahy. Now I don't have to.

It looks like the guy(s) who did it were just celebrating the 4th of July. What a tragedy all around.

Hey, I just noticed that SER put captions on the pics stating "Property of SER and JT IRREGULARS"

I think we should make SER the official photographer of the JTI. Maybe he'll win an award.

Bout darn time we take some award and credit for our property. Although, an official photographer? How much will that cost us? ;>
