So says an op-ed piece by Randolph D. Brandt in the Racine Post:

And thus end our chances for productive discussion of, well, just about anything. If you oppose something proposed by the current administration, you're a racist.
I am so sick of this shit. So sick of it. A few weeks ago, a car blasting music pulled up next to my truck. I asked the guy to please turn it down. His response was, "Fuck you, honky." When I asked what race had to do with it, he again replied, "Fuck you, honky."
I am so insulted. My very first sponsor in Alcoholics Anonymous, a man I literally asked to help me save my life, was a black man. I never once considered the color of his skin, or anyone else's, in my time of need.
It is impossible to have an intelligent conversation with someone who is paranoid. Screw you bastards for poisoning our attempts at healing our nation's wounds. It is not the color of your skin that defines you, but your filthy, black hearts.

Here Here.
orbs, i agree... but its a few of the bad ones who ruin the many many fine black citizens out there
I am NOT condemning African-Americans here. Indeed, my understanding is that Mr. Brandt is white. I'm condemning the racial blame game, but generations are already crippled, so it won't make any difference.
Power corrupts, and it corrupts black as well as white. Pigs come in all colors, too.
point well taken orbs
Ignorance knows no boundries nor color....
Democracy is imperfect. Democracy is a long and not-so-pretty process.
I voted for Mr Obama because I had more faith in his ability to get things done than I had faith in Mr. McCain.
Mr. Obama has a total four years to earn my confidence again.
I hear a lot of bluster but don't hear many facts. We're not new to this, and like any compromise, in the end no one will be totally happy. No one's dreams will be fulfilled.
We can hope for some improvements in the health care system. Progress comes in small increments.
I think what Brandt is condemning is not disagreeing with Obama so much as the vitriol and blatant disregrad for anything resembling the truth that a small (but vocal) minority seem to be spouting.
Some may be racist (even if not consciously so). Others may just be loud assholes. It can be hard to separate being a racist from just being a general ass.
In general, I agree with Orbs. This piece comes across as an oversimplified playing of the race card as Brandt does not acknowledge the true complexity of the debate.
I just fell off my chair....... I agreed with Hale on a political subject! I better buy a lottery ticket!
To clarify, I agree with this:"In general, I agree with Orbs. This piece comes across as an oversimplified playing of the race card as Brandt does not acknowledge the true complexity of the debate."
Still, it's an agreement! For this I will Party On!!!!!!
Stu, Just don't sue me for any injuries you may have sustained in your fall :)
it is so sad. I know more racist black people than I know racist white people. My father was a racist and I hated him for it. People are people, color doesn't make who you are, it is how you are, who you really are that defines you.
I am tired of being called a racist just for calling somebody out on being stupid or obnoxious (co-workers in need of correction). They exclaim 'you're a racist' and my only come back is that I am not, it's that they're stupid, stupid comes in every color, and if you want to blame your race for your stupidity, fine, tho wrong! and it's a personal choice to remain stupid, nuff said!
