The Incredible Shrinking Toilet Paper Roll Rip-Off
They are both rolls of Northern bathroom tissue. "Big rolls." The one on the left came from a package I bought last month. The one on the right I purchased this month.
I remember that they started doing this with candy bars years ago.
What's next? Clothing that is shrunk so you'll have to pay extra for plus sizes?

I know that the one on the right looks wider, but it isn't. It was just squashed a little.
When my kids come home, it doesn't matter how wide the roll is, they speed through it... and someone winds up plugging up the darn pot!
Its the way now... a big marketing ploy... the whole system will soon be ala carte..
Save up them catalogs!
The latest government survey anticipates the recession will drive weight reduction and hence the smaller size will be needed to accomodate the expected smaller butts.
Orb's: FUNNY. I just wrote an e-mail to the people that make "I can't believe it's not butter" They changed their packaging to hold 7-1/2 ounces each time 2, or 1 tub of 15oz. I got an answer. "They had to change to continue to compete"
REGARDLESS. I going to BUTTER. Near plastic is NOT worth $2.76 for 15oz. EVERYTHING is shrinking. Pretty soon a beer will be 11oz?
Remember when sugar came in a 5lb bag?
Remember when coffee came in a 3lb can?
On, and On, and On.
I remember when you could see a 3 Musketeers bar without a magnifying glass
What peeves me off is when you used to use a 16 oz can of pumpkin for a recipe and now the only can you are able to buy is 13 oz. Happens all the time. They even get more clever in design and make the boxes and jars look the same.
well I can tell ya'll why do they sell brat buns in packages of 8, but you can only buy brats with 6? What do I do with 2 extra brat buns.. no wiseass comments please
That's an age-old question. I think you have to die and go to heaven before you're allowed to know.
You could buy 3 packages of brat buns and 4 packages of brats to end up with 24 of each. Just eat a lot.
Jedwis....
The 2 extra are part of the big circle which keep a community going.
Take the 2 extra buns and put them outside for the birds.
The birds shit on your car so you have to take it to the car wash.
This means you use gas and keep the gas industry going.
Same for the tire industry.
Now the city has to keep the water and wastewater departments working to keep the car washing going.
All the time, these business are keeping people working so they can go and buy more brats and buns which in turn keeps the cycle going.
I thought everyone knew that.....
I noticed this the other day at my house. I dug an empty roll out of the trash and couldn't believe they did that! TP is a standard size! What is this? Europe?
Funny you mention clothes: being 6'5" with a 33" inseam you can guess where my height is. 'Round about the time kids wearing baggy clothes became popular the "Tall" size shirts became shorter....
In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal but it really rather sucks that now there is absolutely no way a regular t-shirt will be long enough no matter who makes it. I like to support some automotive products and clubs, etc. but can't anymore due to this, instead having ~15 grey t-shirts instead. Oh well I guess....
