If ya see an old friend and...
You both say you all need to get in touch, do it. My best friend through grade school and high school had his funeral today. Seems we would run into each other time to time with got to get around to its, but never did. Weird how no one seems to have gotten the message that I'm supposed to be the first to kick. This is one of those contests where you're both happy and sad to win.

Very sorry about your friend, huck.
I had a 90+ year old lady as a neighbor once. I used to make time to visit because I knew she was lonely. She once told me that the hardest part of living to be so old was loosing everyone she knew.
Huck: You shouldn't feel bad. You probably have MORE friends than your even aware of. I don't meet with old friends on what you would call anything NEAR a regular basis, but I do "OUT OF THE BLUE" contact them, either by phone, or one of the internet sites etc. Some of these friends have not seen or heard from me in over 40 years. If the reaction from them is not what I expected, that's ok. I FEEL BETTER. We all seem to be losing friends more and more each day. Just don't forget. You ALWAYS have a FRIEND out there you don't even know.
Condolences, Huck. I can't imagine losing a good friend.
I see every once in a while a guy I used to date has died and i think, 'there goes a part of my life'. And some ladies/classmates who passed away and I think, 'there but for the grace of god'. My mom and dad passing was the worse. That was a big chunk of my life. Sometimes I think if ony I had talked more to them or at least said Hi. You find as the years go on you continually lose parts of your life and you realize it is not forever. So you pay more attention and relax your guard. I am sorry for your friend. Remember he was a good part of your life, a nice chapter.
