Bee-Boy Dance Crew
"When a honey bee returns to the hive after finding a good source of nectar, it will perform a unique dance for its hive mates, detailing the distance, quality and quantity of the new food supply."
It's a very odd thing and quite alarming. Even stranger they don't know why it happens. I've heard many theories such as mobile phones, chemical/pesticides in the crops, genetic manipulation of crops and global warming/ climate change..
but the dancing was fun to watch my girls enjoyed it very much..
I love the internet! Orbs, you can sure find them!
I actually watched a pbs-ish program about this. The bee disappearance is a big deal. They are saying that mass starvation and crop failure will occur if they don't find out why the bees are not returning to their hives.
They stated it might be due to an infectious bee-illness. Bees will not return to a hive if they are sick. It is an inbred trait... so as they don't spread their illness to the hive. That is one theory of what is happening.
Right now, companies are traveling around to farmers, trucking in bees to pollinate, because the natural bee population is no longer viable.

Had to admit, the video was very disturbing....
ReplyDeleteI've been stung a number of times, but I love the honeybees.
