I haven't been to the domes in quite awhile. It is definitely on my to-do list.
The last time I went, one of them was closed for some reason. However, they still charged the full admission. I was turned off with the 2/3 value.
Even though common thought is that orchids are difficult to grow, I've heard it is actually not true. They are pretty expensive to buy though, so I've never risked it.
It's quite common that one of them is closed.. 2 are permanent and the third one is redone seasonally.. so you probably caught it between seasons. Last time I was there someone was getting married in the rain forest dome.. That was interesting walking through their wedding photos..
The pictures are beautiful.. We are still under about ½ ft snow, so it will still be awhile before anything living will poke through, so it's nice to see some color.. thanks for sharing.

No need apologize SER, the flowers are beautiful! Been thinking of going to the Domes...
Beautiful. Nothing like three months of crappy weather to make you appreciate some things.
Beautiful!!! Just beautiful~
Fantastic Pics! So lifelike and real, I started sneezing just looking at them.
I too think Orchids are beautiful flowers. I guess some are very hard to grow.
Another I like is Lily of the Valley. A small simple yet pretty flower, with it’s upside down bells.

I've been to the Chicago Botanic Garden many times, but to the Domes only once, years and years ago.
