Move Over, America
According to Move Over, America: "Forty three states have passed 'Move Over' laws, which require motorists to 'Move Over' and change lanes to give safe clearance to law enforcement officers on roadsides." Wisconsin's law was implemented in 2001. The penalty for failure to 'Move Over' in Wisconsin is 15 days suspension and $40.
That seems lenient to me. From what I read here and related links, you can be fined $30 to $300, and lose your license for 3 months to 2 years. That seems more reasonable. It's written in legalese, though, so I can't be sure.

I am a big fan of this law...you know, if you could be a fan of a law.
Sadly, I rarely see it enforced. I currently live in MN and no one "moves over". I think in WI a majority of the people do it out of habit now.
But I won't go on. I could complain all day about the drivers in MN compared to WI.
Really? I've only been to Minnesota once, to Minneapolis, over 30 years ago, and I wasn't driving. But my impression of Minnesotans and their driving was generally good. You have to be good to cope with the snow. Down in Texas, they slam into each other when it just rains.
It seems to me that the worst drivers in the world live wherever I do.
