I am up early and awake! My peom corner...
CAT AND MOUSE
It is the law. Our cat has caught a mouse.
Across the field she trots with squealing booty.
She'll bring him up the walk and to the house
To show us, I suspect, she does her duty.

Lightly in her mouth she holds his head.
A mouse near death and with a pounding heart
He knows his time is come. He'll soon be dead
His warm gray body will be torn apart.
I could scold her for her hunting act
and take away the mouse that she has caught
To set him free again in distant tract
And feed her from a can of food I bought.

I will not disobey the law. I learn
How wrong it is to take what others earn.

It is a grim poem... but I like it. We need the author!

I think Sassa should maybe host/author the Poetry Corner blog... would you do it, Sassa? We need something for Tuesdays or Thursdays... could be weekly or bi-monthly?

I can't figure this out. If Monday is only 2 days away, why do people get excited about Friday? I figure people should be more excited about Tuesday since Monday already passed and its 6 days before is shows up again.

Maybe because the weekend is sandwiched in there?

Saturday and Sunday are a hard act to follow - unless you're Labor Day, or the 4th/5th of July, or something like that.

Happy Midsummer.. hope you all enjoy your herring and boiled potatoes... at least I did, yup celebrated like a real Swede yesterday.. it was actually a lot better than I expected.. it helps when you wash it down with a little Absolut Vodka.. had a good time.. Hoping everyone is enjoying their weekend..

Thank's guy's. I knew If I asked I would get help. I'm a Redneck, that's why I'm going to see Larry the Cable Guy Tonight In the Dell's. I hope he Is funny, and we don't get blown away by a storm. I think were going out to dinner before hand. KFC. I'm goin for the Double Down.
