NEW ORLEANS — Oil stopped gushing into the Gulf of Mexico for the first time in nearly three months, as BP began testing the cap atop its stricken well, a critical step toward sealing the well permanently.

It's not for sure yet - they're watching it with underwater cameras - but it has stopped, for now.
I hope they've done it.

Unfortunately, this is a test that will last for 48 hours at most then they will open up the valves to assess the test and decide on a next step. Hopefully, the test results will say close those guys up again!
Finally, some good news. Hopefully in a few weeks the relief well will be done and can successfully seal the well and stop the oil for good.
If that doesn't work, maybe they can put a giant condom over it.
So far, we haven't seen any 'tar-balls' over here....this would sure be a relief it is does, indeed, work!
The cost involved both monetarily and to the environment will continue to be felt for a very, very, very long time. Expect your seafood prices to go sky high.
I'm getting too old for tragedies. I'm sick of them.
