Riding by the Root

After all the storms that blasted us with tons of rain and the temperatures dropping down to more comfortable levels, I decided it was a good day for a drive. Noticing that the water levels were high, I thought it would a good idea to take some pics of the river that flow through this town. The Root River. Glad I did! There were some flooding in areas, but nothing like what happened two years ago.

Nice pics......

With all the dirt in the water, you would think the river would be 50 feet deep by now!

Nice Pics! It reminds me of the time when my kids were younger and let the bathtub overflow.

Nice pics, drew. I know some people who live near the river. I bet they were very nervous over the weekend.

My parents are neighbors with the river by Island Park.. I know they were extremely nervous to have a repeat from 2 years ago.. They spent a couple of days emptying the basement... As of yesterday they said it was almost at it's banks..

It's amazing they haven't had a flooding since the 60s, but since 08 they are on pins and needles everytime the river begins to rise.. I remember quite often as a kid the river entering the little park outside our house it was always kinda exciting to see it.. that was befoer you realized the destruction it can bring about..

I apologize if I have completely messed up my comment.. I am still typing a little bind.. although my vision is getting better it's still quite fuzzy when I have to type on the computer..

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts! I was quite impressed and astonished of what I saw. Thank God it was as bad as it was two years ago.
