My defective monitor is finally on its way to an LG center in Elk Grove, IL. They emailed me my return authorization and a prepaid shipping label (FedEx), but no box (like kk got). They instruct you to use the original packaging, if available. Right, I keep boxes and styrofoam and plastic bags for years. Otherwise, they want you to make sure there is at least 4 inches of padding around the monitor from all four sides. They stress that you are responsible for the condition of the monitor when it arrives. If it arrives damaged, they will simply ship it back to you. Thing is, I'm shipping it to them because it already is "damaged."
I have a box but had to buy some shipping peanuts from Office Depot. $10 for a bag. (Wtf!) When I got it home, I soon realized I would need two more bags. I wasn't going to invest $30 into my monitor's "prepaid" return. I went to a pack n' ship place and the guy charged me $18 to pack it up and I let FedEx pick it up there instead of calling for home pick up. I returned the peanuts to Office Depot.
I've already started tracking the monitor online. LG says it will take them "3 to 5" business days to ship out another monitor after they receive my defective one. If I get lucky, I may have it by next weekend.
is it really, finally Friday??
ReplyDeleteso excited I get to sleep in tomorrow!!

ReplyDelete30 degree shifts in the temperature are becoming commonplace around here.

I LOVE the cooler weather. You can keep that 80 degree humid crap.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it is Friday already... or yet. The weeks are either going way too quickly or way too slowly. I can't decide.
