20 people rescued. "'Something popped, and it went sideways and was out of alignment,' he [Mike Wagenaar] said. That happened while passengers were being loaded for a ride, he said."
Police Chief Wahlen says they're investigating. If state inspectors have to come, the ferris wheel stays and the intersection may be closed until they get here. That might make the national news
The ferris wheel isn't down there anymore, so I assume the investigation has concluded. I don't think Dickert wants anymore state inspectors around. I wonder if the public will be told what the problem was.

Thank you Racine firefighters and EMTs for all that you do. I've been transported by ambulance twice, an outstanding job both times.
It sounds like they're having a hell of a time with equipment, crowds, and numerous calls for service nearby.
I'm so glad it isn't me. That would totally freak me out.
The Journal Times has a story up: http://www.journaltimes.com/news/local/article_c3b8a834-ce56-11df-8f3d-001cc4c03286.html

It was on Channel 4 tonite. Breaking news.
That's awful! What if someone had to pee?
I'm glad no one was hurt.
I believe whenever a ride fails the state inspectors have to be called
It appears from the pictures that it is a small Ferris wheel. Looked like it was mostly children aboard.
Kudos to the rescue team for getting everyone down safely and as quickly as possible. It had to be very frightening.
