Party on the Pavement

Yesterday, I went to one of Racine's biggest festivals, the Party on the Pavement. Although the weather was a balmy 57 degrees chilled by strong northern winds, thousands of revelers crowded the streets of downtown. Donning on a jacket to stay warm, I wandered the closed off streets aimlessly, soaking in the sights. Stores were open to customers. The taverns were full. Merchants sold brats and beer on the streets. Several bands played out there in the cold. Vendors showed off their art. I had a great time! Ran into some old friends.

The top story of the event was the Ferris wheel getting stuck. It took firefighters over two hours to get everyone down. I felt sorry for those who got stuck up there.

A rainbow to end a wonderful day!

Thanks for the pics, drew. I haven't gone to Party on the Pavement for a few years, but it was always a good time.

Liz-I've seen Full Flavor play a couple of times, yet I was unaware they were playing at Henry and Wanda's. They play an excellent set that mostly includes classic rock.

Your sister is not dating Aaron, is she? Aaron was my son's guitar instructor. Aaron is a GREAT guitar player.

Orbs-Thanks!

Nice pics, drew. One of these years I will get down there. Did you happen to see Mme. Zoltar anywhere?

Ms. kk, I was concentrating all of my psychic powers on keeping that Ferris Wheel upright. What if that axle/hub had popped out of place while the wheel was operating instead of just loading? Oh my!

No kk, I didn't see Madame Z down there, but I felt a unique aura surrounding the Ferris wheel...

I don't know the guys in the band, still have yet to see them. She is dating Jesse, I want to say he's the lead singer? super good guy, drives city bus like her, so you'll see him driving around town
