Tucson does not have scanners. Nashville (where I am going) does so I may see them on the way back. I don't know if Nashville has the X-ray backscatter scanners or the sub-millimeter scanners. Sub-millimeter radiation is much lower energy and although I am not overly concerned about the X-rays, I would rather they just all be sub-millimeter. If you can be on the safe side AND just as effective, well, that's a no brainer to me, but I am just a stupid liberal science geek.

I would certainly opt for the radiation. I would be very uncomfortable with a stranger touching me like that.
