In January, I blogged about the Sun rising two days early in Greenland. Over on my blog, a spirited discussion ensued that led to an explanation of this strange phenomena.

I don't know why, but for some reason that doesn't sound like you to me. I've listened to other of your podcasts and even met you. I guess old farts don't remember voices well...
Hale, at the point in time of the year's first sunrise in Greenland, how long does the sun stay up? Does it just rise and then set again at first?
