I am not a "pet person" so this post made me google Guinea Pig. I am officially now a vegan, they had some god awful pictures of them being served as meals, made me want to puke. Other then that, some interesting information on the history of "guinea pigs" lol
Inquiring minds need to know: The guinea pig (Cavia porcellus), also called the cavy, is a species of rodent belonging to the family Caviidae and the genus Cavia. Despite their common name, these animals are not in the pig family, nor are they from Guinea. They originated in the Andes, and... do not exist naturally in the wild. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinea_pig
According to the article, they were worshiped and "rubbed against the bodies of the sick, and [were] seen as a supernatural medium."

GOOD Eatin! We'll never go hungry as long as there are pets to eat. MMmmm, tastes like chicken!
