I think I'm gonna haul up the a/c from the basement and put it in the window this weekend. I live above the boiler room and it's hot even with the boiler off because of the water heaters down there. Plus, I have western exposure to the sun which bakes the bricks like an oven.
I walked into my apartment yesterday afternoon and it was 85ยบ F in here. I opened all the windows and the door, but it never cooled down much until well after the sun set. They say it's gonna warm up this weekend. I want to be ready.
Warming up sounds wonderful, will be nice when we hit the time of year when we don't need an assortment of jackets of varying thicknesses, geez, starting to think they'll be out all year, bring on some warmth!
Good Morning from Racine.. I've been sitting awake since about 5a.m. which is pretty good since we went to bed at 7:30, hopefully we can keep this up so that we can get into the swing of things that much faster.. The girls are still sleeping which is absolutely amazing.. I love sitting here in my parents kitchen.. we have a beautiful view of Island park.. I was forced to go out and take a quick stroll out in Island Park and snap a few pictures.. I thought I would post them. I know I promised photos of Sweden, but I have to clean out the camera to find them.. we have something like 1600 photos on it so it will take me awhile to find them all.. in the mean time I'll post these pictures of one of my favorites places in the world.. something magical about this river to me.
So I'm hoping that Mme. Z. was right and the warm weather is on it's way.. Didn't look like it was supposed to be good this weekend, but maybe the weather is suffering a little jet lag as well and is on it's way..
I see that Orbs saw a different weather report than I did.. I saw storms and the such, but maybe it's warmer than what you are used to so far this year..
Welcome Home Why Not! I too was up at 5:00 a.m. but only because we were getting wonderful thunderstorms and a lot of badly needed rain. Have a great Friday and a great weekend everyone.
Yesterday was gorgeous! There was this big ball of fire in the sky. I put on shorts! I planted. I swept out the garage. I puttered. My mind was cleared of the winter cobwebs and dust bunnies.
Welcome home, Why Not?. So glad you made it safely. There is something magical about the places we habituated when we were very young. Be careful down there in the park. It isn't the same place it used to be.
Welcome back, Why Not? I hope that you and your family have a great summer here.
Right now, the official temp outside is 60.1 °F. In my apartment, it is 87. It wasn't hot out, but the clear skies let the sun cook the building's bricks. My next door neighbor calls my apartment The Sauna. There's no boiler room below his apt.
