Well here ya have a property owned by the city which doesn’t fit the color scheme of the area either; West Racine, but I don’t see them complaining about this!
This building use to be Santa’s House during the Christmas season. They use to have a Santa in there during certain hours of the day for the kids.

I remember the Santa house. Heck, I remember the one on Monument Square decades ago. One year, one of my sister's boyfriends played Santa.
Btw, my lawyer will sue you in the morning for stealing my photo. We're also suing the city because I live in it. If you live in it, too, then I think it's double indemnity.
Aww they don't use that building for Santa anymore??!?!? I haven't been here for a Christmas in MANY years.. I just remember that the fire fighters rebuilt it after the old one burnt down.. aww.. makes me sad to hear they don't use it anymore.. I used to go there as a kid..

I have seen a couple other places that are different colors like that. But you don't here them complaining about them. That is because they are not near downtown. One of them is over on Douglas.
They moved Santa's Chalet to the north side of the street because they were going to do something else where it was located. Wasn't that the big hoopla over the gas station/restaurant? Shortly after that, no more Santa. He must not have been happy with the new neighbors that moved in. (tattoo parlors, etc.) The operations management of this city suck.
The rumor now is that a Walgreens is going in that spot.
I think we should all grab the same head shop colors and paint Santa's house so it matches.
Or paint Cosmic Corner like the Santa house. Then what is the city going to say? It's OK for one business district but not another?
Went down Main St. yesterday and the barber shop painted it's place red, white and blue. This is next door Cosmic Corner. I didn't have my camera to take a picture.
