As you can see from the screenshot at right from the Journal Times’ online story, “Your guide to summer fun in Racine County,” http://www.journaltimes.com/lifestyles/leisure/article_ff8c2baa-7672-11e0-88b9-001cc4c03286.html, once again there is a bounty of entertainment options in the Racine area this week. And the State Fair continues in West Allis through Sunday. We certainly are blessed, aren’t we?
Senor Zanza and I went to the Starving Artists Fair last Sunday. It was lovely. Unfortunately, it rained some in the morning and again late in the afternoon, but we were there mid-afternoon. There were many beautiful objets d'art to view, admire, and purchase. There did not seem to be as many fairgoers as in previous years. I suppose the economy has hurt the art fairs as much as everything else. Darn the economy! I’d like to punch it in the nose:
Oh my. Violence is not the answer. Madame Zoltar is: madamezoltar@jtirregulars.com.
Now, what was the question? Oh yes, are you enjoying the summer? I hope you are. I heard my first cicada this morning. They come with the August heat.
Thank you all so much for reading my blog today. I love you, I love you, I love you. You are my regular irregular family, and I do so enjoy our visits. Be gentle with each other and with yourselves. Wear a hat, stay hydrated, and protect your skin and eyes. Have fun, my dear friends. Turbellarian!
Wow, did she ever lay one on that woman! I am a lover, not a fighter.
ReplyDeleteI usually do go to the Starving Artists Fair. I love to look around and have purchased a couple objets d'art as you mentioned. It seems to often rain on this day, for some reason. They must be used to it.
I didn't make it to the fair this year. Instead, I was lucky enough to head to Milwaukee and was WOWed by the great Thunderbirds. I believe due to the clouds and the lower ceiling, they soared low overhead and buzzed me like a sheep, much to my delight. The roar from those engines is amazing. Very exciting!
My friend and I had the opportunity to be next to someone who used to work at Mitchell Field with the military planes when they were there. He met with the thunderbirds the day previous and had some additional airplane knowledge to share. Fun day!
The chipmunk has claimed 2 of my first 3 tomatoes. Little sucker best watch his back. I'm pretty angry. Can you punch a chipper in the nose like that?
KK, A pellet gun does the trick on little Alvan. The worse thing is they double dip the tomato. They take a couple bites out of one, ruin it, then move to another one, ruin it and so it goes.
ReplyDeleteIt is something how cutie they can be and at the same time what a pain in the pooper they are!
ReplyDeleteI too missed the fair. Not sure if they are still there but there use to be a couple of leather crafters there. I bought a wallet from one and it must have lasted me 10 or more years.
KK, those jets are soooo cool....!
Madame Zoltar you have a great summer yourself.
What's a wallet?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mr. SER. How kind of you.
ReplyDeleteI think the wild cats in my neighborhood keep the chipmunks at bay.
