Jed, if you use it enough, it eventually gets into Miriam-Webster. I'm dumbing down the English language... bit by bit. (is dumbing actually a word? lol)
Mary, I feel sorry for you. We've had a mild August so far. More like July. I ran my a/c more last month than this.
My truck is supposedly "fixed," but I'm afraid to say it aloud. It was "fixed" half a dozen times in the past few weeks, but kept breaking down. I'm driving on eggshells.
Toad, the guy said "my" fitting between an oil hose and the radiator was cracked. It was Saturday morning and he said he couldn't get a new one anywhere, but he got a used one, put it in, and told me to "keep an eye on it." I assume he's talking about a compression fitting. Every radiator I've put in has come with new ones. How do you "keep an eye on it" when you're driving? Anyway, he didn't charge me for the repair or the tow or for the four gallons of oil (he says) it took to find the leak or the mess. He even degreased the engine. (I hosed down the underside later.) It still stinks like hot oil when the engine gets warm. That should burn off. The liner under the hood was soaked with oil, too. That sits just above the engine, baking. I found my oil trail near mom's place. You can see exactly where the oil started leaking (when the engine light went on), a little pool by the stop sign, then a trail leading off to the big splash where I pulled over.
I apologize to the rest of this community for venting my spleen here earlier. I've taken down the posts. I realize this is the JTI and I have every right to leave them up, but I don't want such a filthy subject sullying our site. I can't find the words to express my disgust.
