Beautiful time lapses of the night sky have become quite popular and today we have one from Kitt Peak. This was taken by Dean Ketelsen, one of the guides of the Nightly Observing Program which you should definitely attend if you visit Tucson!

OMG, that is so beautiful! We don't see much of anything around here, way too much light pollution.
Yup, that was my first reaction: beautiful. So, that's Tucson with the downward facing light? Amazing how you can still see the night sky around it.
You never really see the Tucson lights since the view never really points that way. At the end you see the small city of Sells. Phoenix lights are a bigger problem than Tucson's lights, although the Milky Way is to the south so you never really see Phoenix either.
