"It can happen in an instant."

I saw an ad for this in today's Parade magazine:

From the online ad:

"Why Choose 5Star Urgent Response?"

"What if you could help protect those closest to you, or yourself, with the touch of a button? With the new 5Star Urgent Response™ service, now you can. At the press of a button, you will be connected to a skilled team of highly-trained Certified Response Agents. They will identify you and your location, can conference in family or friends, help dispatch 9-1-1 emergency service, access a nurse, or provide any additional assistance, if needed."

Also:

"Certified 5Star Response Agents
  • Live, 100% U.S. based people you can count on - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Certified by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch® and trained in CPR and other emergency protocols.
  • Agents are equipped to handle a wide variety of situations and remain on the line with you until your situation is resolved"

I bet you these will sell like crazy.  That's very shrewd marketing.  I wish I had thought of it first.  "Makes a great gift."

Unreal............

Orbs, if it's gifts you're looking for I have a box of "Pet Rocks" you can give out!

^ Lol, I know, first thing I thought of was they're sitting around drinking beer and smoking dope.

My mom has LifeLine and used it a number of times when she was having heart problems. We're happy with the service. But the guy next door said his mother's LifeLine is not good. They had to hit the button three times once to get a response, with long pauses between. She lives in Illinois, so I hope it's a local problem.

Hang onto those pet rocks, SER. One day they'll be collectors items.

The most recent issue of Runner's World had the interesting stat that 25% of runners take a cell phone with them. I was kind of surprised...I thought it would be higher. I thought I was the only one that didn't run with a phone!

Oh no, running and texting, isn't there a law against that?

Just think, now in Wisconsin they can get a permit to carry a concealed weapon...you're in my way you SOB...pow, you're outta here!

What do they charge for this Orbs? I agree with you, hell of a marketing niche, every parent will want one for their kids, given all the weirdos snatching up little kids the past few years.

I thought of getting life line but it costs $$ so I forgot it. I often wonder how long I will wait before someone finds me. You hear of people being found dead after 3 or 4 days of the event, and you think doesn't anyone visit/call/come over? Guess what..they don't on a regular basis.

jedwis, it's $15 a month, but I don't know what the initial fee is. I wonder if they charge for someone who uses it too much?

Orb's, THANK YOU. It's $14.99 per. month, and the cost to activate Is $35.00 of which $10.00 Is taken off the cost. NO cancelation fee, and NO contract. I think It's a GREAT idea, and suggest the people answering the system, are probably CAPABLE.

Just cracking wise, Toad. Like I said, mom uses LIfeLine and she's happy.

Sassa, the thought of lying there for days without anyone knowing scares a lot of people, I think.

Orb's, I didn't have a problem with anything YOU said. I did have a problem with the idiot at Walmart that didn't have a clue what I was talking about. What the hell, Walmart Is on their Website as a Retail seller of the device. The address and phone number of the Walmart In Lake Delton Is on the Website. " I've fallen and I can't get up" OH, NO.
