Four for Fridays

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another amazing episode of Four for Fridays-where I have the questions and you have the answers.... Here are questions for you.

1) Have you ever felt the you are the only sane (or crazy) person in the room?

2) If you were to take a road trip cross country with one person, what person would you take?

3) What is your favorite meal of the day?

4) What are your views on censorship?

Enjoy your weekend!

Always not just in the room but in the WORLD
My son..a mechanic
lunch @ 3:00
I personally have nothing to hide so I believe things should be censored..i.e. nude kids, illegal CD's, trademarks, etc.

1. I'm whoever the voices in my head tell me to be.

2. One of our founding fathers.

3. Supper.

4. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, use it responsibly.

BTW did you ever hear: The whole world is nuts but me and thee, and I'm beginning to have doubts about thee.?

OKIE said...

1. Nope.
2. My husband.
3. Dinner.
4. Not happy about censorship.

hale-bopp said...

1. Yes on both sides and I could piss lots of people off with details!

2. Hale-Bopp, my cat. Contrary to most cats, she is a great traveler.

3. I eat when I need to and don't when I don't. I refuse to be held captive to meal times!

4. No, sir, I don't like it.

You know, guys, the censorship one had me. I can see where it is necessary in some situations, but not in other. A hard question to have a definite answer that would fit all circumstances.

Have a great weekend, all.

1. I'm certified crazy, so the answer would be of course, but than again, I am the only sane person I know also.

2. My Wife. We would travel the OLD Route 66 (as much as exists) and re-visit what I saw In 1960 with my family. We would have to stop by Mary, and Gary In OKC.

3. I am trying to decide If I want to eat anymore? Every Time I eat I feel crummy. Food Is becoming too heavy. I need to find lighter food.

4. Newspaper, and TV News should NOT be censored, but photographic, or video censorship Is necessary to attempt to protect children. I personally don't like censorship of language. I have a kind of foul mouth but, am careful where I use It. I got a week off of work without pay for asking when the F, they were going to fix the coffee vending machine, and the vending machine man heard me and, complained. It must have cost me about $800.00 for that one.

1. Yes, on both sides of that coin, often at the same time.
2. Can I take the British Garmin guy? I often fantasize of getting in the car and just seeing where I wind up!
3. All of them
4. It makes me hot just thinking about it. (In an angry sort of way)

OrbsCorbs said...

1) Always.

2) There's no one left.

3) Supper.

4) I'm against it, especially for political purposes, which is what the Journal Times does daily. I am ashamed of that newspaper and wish it would die. (What I really wish is that someone responsible to our community would take over the paper, but that will never happen, so, please, die.) There will never be change in Racine as long as lies are disseminated to the public daily.

I'm confused, is it supper or dinner? I know in some areas lunch is dinner and supper is dinner and lunch is totally forgotten. At least we can all agree that breakfast is the first meal after you sleep or come home from the bars. lol

Tender Heart Bear said...

1) No

2) Of Course the one and only person for me is Drew!

3) Dinner. Because I am home with Drew to have Dinner.

4) I am against it. But Beejay and Toad does have a good point that there is different points on it. There should be something for the kids.

Have a great weekend and be safe with the snow!♥

Jed you must type like Drew then with one finger!

1. at work I believe I'm one of the only sane ones, then again, some days I can out crazy most of them.
2. hubby and I travel fairly well together but our oppositeness sometimes makes it 'fun', I think a road trip with my girls would be a blast, or a good friend of mine
3. whichever one has the most of the family together
4. we came here and created this home because of censorship, 'nuff said.

There could be a whole blog on the censorship issue. Even though I am against it, I know there are a variety of different settings.

For example, the standards for broadcast on public airwaves (radio and television) are different than for cable/satellite radio where the user pays for it (the FCC can't touch Howard Stern now!) It's probably a good thing we don't have hardcore porn on broadcast television and radio.

Science is generally very open. Recently a controversy has arisen there over a request from the US Government to the journals Science and Nature to censor research on crating easily transmissible versions of the H5N1 flu virus. It should be noted that Nature is a British journal while Science is published in the U.S. so this brings up international issues as well.

Censoring something just because it is dangerous doesn't work. You can find instructions on the internet to produce all kinds of deadly chemicals and weapons. And even this research is going to leak out sooner or later. Governments have their secrets leak and scientists don't have the same culture of secrecy so our stuff tends to leak even faster!

Even if someone uses this information for nefarious purposes, I sure want those who will be on the front lines responding to have full access to all information which might help them stop it sooner rather than later!.

I personally think It's an outright criminal act the Government has been carrying on for 48 years, as to who killed JFK.

Jed, I always thought of eating as, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Once you get to a Nursing Home, or Assisted Living Home, they change It to Breakfast, Dinner, Lunch. WHY you ask? WELL, I asked too, and they had no idea, as they were serving my 82 year old M.I.L. freaking PORK HOCKS for lunch. Think about that for a minute. Your paying over $2,000.00 a month, and they feed you Pork Hocks. This was 12 years ago. I can't imagine how much It costs now?

Toad said...

BTW. I like pork hocks, but only pickled, and with LOTS of beer.

kkdither said...

It was 8,000 a month, just two years ago when my mom was in there. The food was despicable then, as well. Something really has to give with healthcare. The injustices faced in those institutions, on a daily, heck, on a minute-to-minute basis is criminal.

They also charge you over 300.00 a day (out of your own pocket) to "hold" a room if you need to be hospitalized... just to guarantee there will be space take you back. Ya, right. Extortion money. They are most happy when that happens... full payment with no care needed to be given.

The way you guy answer questions on Four for Fridays fascinate me!

1) All the time at work. Some days I feel like I work in a nuthouse.

2) Take a guess...

3) I don't have it too often, breakfast.

4) Music wise, I don't think music should be censored. I may not agree with the lyrics to many rap songs, then again, is rock and roll any better? If I don't like it, I'll listen to something else. However, in a family format, things should be toned down.

Toad said...

Drew, You would be fascinated to learn the School Board of Mauston made "Rock and Roll" a 1/2 credit course for next year. I can't even imagine It.

I agree completely. Children today are already exposed to things that our parents never would have tolerated.

Sorry to her such bad news about nursing homes. Looks like mom will be headed for one. She's almost entirely blind now - can't make out anything. She can only cook with a microwave that has raised buttons. Plus she has a host of other health issues. My sister and I working together are finding it difficult to take of her, besides worrying about her falling (twice now) or otherwise hurting herself. We're taking it one day at a time. My mom is noted for her fantastic recuperative powers and resiliency. We'll see.
