"The Journal Times wins numerous WNA awards including most improved "

From The Journal Times.com:

"RACINE COUNTY — The Journal Times has received four first-place awards from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association for editorial excellence in 2011, including Most Improved Newspaper.

"The Journal Times also received two second-place awards and eight third-place awards in news/editorial.

"In advertising, this newspaper won three first-place WNA awards, one second-place and one third-place award."

Bravo!

While the JT brags about a few awards:

"MADISON — The Post-Crescent was recognized Friday night with 52 awards in the 2011 Wisconsin Newspaper Association's Better Newspaper and Advertising contests.

Thirty-six of the awards, including nine firsts, were earned for news department work ranging from investigative and local reporting to photography, sports pages, online content at postcrescent.com, and the newspaper's series of DoIt! Community Challenges.

The other 16 awards, including five firsts, recognized efforts in the newspaper's advertising and market development areas."

"MIDDLETON -- The Wausau Daily Herald won seven first-place awards and 10 other honors Friday in the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation's annual contest."

"The staff of the Marshfield News-Herald received 21 awards for journalistic excellence during ceremonies Friday night in Middleton"

Given the number of awards - you can probably earn one just for showing up. When there is this many - no big deal.

It still is The John Dickert Times. I like the tricky dick profile, the picture is a classic. Maybe Dickert can follow the lead of Nixon and resign. The JT makes "someone" go through alot of work by banning them almost weekly.

Anon #1, that was what I meant. You put it more clearly.

I can't even go to the JT site anymore. It makes my blood boil. When I do occasionally get the chance to peruse the printed copy, I have to keep putting it down to cool off.

I think I have news overload. I'm afraid to check out more news sites. My OCD compels me to visit each one. Constant barrage of negativity.

I think the Journal Sentinel is a fine newspaper. They've shaken some things up with investigative reports.

I still read the Journal Times news online. The comments are a gas. It's been a long time since I've checked out their personal blogs, though.

They've been doing this self-congratulatory stuff for years. Before I was reading them online, I would see a story every month or so in the print edition where they won a slew of some journalistic awards. How many awards are given out each year? Maybe we could win one for most improved Journal Times spin off site.

See, I ended up bookmarking the Wisconsin news link . . .

Thier "fine reporting" is why I cancelled my subscription this year. Last years lies and Dickert reporting were the last I could stand. They make me want to puke.

What is "FIT" to report? The Racine Journal Times must have employees of relatives that work in the various Racine's governmental branches. I say this because I provided The newspaper with a copy of my complaint that I filed to the Wis Dept. of Justice of official misconduct by Racine County Officials and the newspaper choose to print none of the complaint. watch for it soon to be posted on www.racinecountycorruption.com
