"Today’s laugh of the day – brought to you by the RJT"

From Tricky Dicky:

“Journal Times editorial 3-28: We Energies should feel the consequences

"A decade ago, We Energies made a decision about its future and rammed it past broad public opposition. That decision didn’t work out so well, and now the state’s largest utility wants to make its customers pay for that decision.

"The Public Service Commission should refuse this. It is not only a drag on the economy, but it upsets a basic idea of fairness.

"The utility wants a 3.6 percent increase in 2013 and another in 2014 to pay for pollution-control projects at the Oak Creek power plant and to cover cost overruns there because of litigation and construction delays, among other factors.

"For the typical residential customer, that increase would mean about $100 more over two years. That isn’t much in the scheme of many household budgets, but $100 here and $100 there adds up to much less consumer spending.

"In the meantime, Wisconsin Energy Corp., the parent company of the utility, reported record earnings in 2011 and looks like it will do the same this year.

"And here we are in the future which We Energies selected for us. The utility wants customers to pay more because of litigation, in other words for exercising their legal rights to object to a poor decision.

"It’s time for us to stop paying and for the utility’s shareholders to take up their responsibility. This is the risk of ownership: Make a bad investment decision, and you make less money until the results of that poor decision subside. You don’t come running to the public for a bailout.”

I’M going to HELP the JT and FIX IT FOR THEM

Tricky Dicky Editorial: John Dickert should feel the consequences.

A year ago, John Dickert made a decision and on a radio show claimed he fired a man for embezzlement. That decision didn’t work out so well, and now Racine’s Mayor wants the Taxpayers to pay for that decision.

The Racine Common Council should refuse this. It is not only a drag on the budget for The City of Racine, but it upsets a basic idea of fairness.

The Mayor of Racine wants the taxpayers of Racine to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, or WHATEVER it takes, to defend the mouth of John Dickert because John Dickert made a bad decision.

For the typical resident of Racine, that increase in property tax levied to pay for an ever increasing Lawyers Fee has yet to be determined. It may not be much in the scheme of household budgets, but a little here, and a little there adds up to much less consumer spending.

In the meantime the Mayor and the Common Council continue to spend like drunken sailors, giving away millions to cronies and expanding spending programs like DBP’s.

And here we are in the future which the Mayor has selected for us. Taxpayers must pay more as property taxes increase, property values decline, and property becomes unsaleable in the City of Racine, in other words, for being foolish enough to be a property owner in the City of Racine.

It’s time for The City of Racine to stop paying for John Dickerts mouth. This is the risk of running your mouth. Make a bad decision and a false statement, and you pay your own legal expenses. You don’t come running to the taxpayers for a bailout!

THANX FOR THE LAUGHS JT!

tricky dicky, nice parity, but I think you have way too much free time on your hands. You and Orbs should get together and do some freelance work for the JT. The JT needs some political controversy to help sell their newspaper.

The John Dickert Times is a joke, Mark Lewis should be the publisher of Pravda. Dickert's 10 year plan would be right at home in 1970's Moscow.
