And that they were....I guess, from what they announced, that they normally take off around sunrise since the wind is the calmest at that time or at sunset...same story.

So colorful...I really, really enjoyed seeing them up close....

The are neat. When I was really young, my dad got a new job with a big pay raise and my parents were trying to decide what their hobby would be. It came down to a choice between buying a hot air balloon or a sailboat. They choose the sailboat, but I was close to being a balloon brat.

Oh, poor Hale...how deprived you were!

I heard that there is a hot air balloon festival in Hartford, WI in August....ummmm, very coincidental that I plan to be in WI in August....

The pix are cool. Did your "flat" guy get his picture taken with the balloons?

I've never seen one up close. Can I come to Hartford with you this summer?? Pretty please? ;>
