  1. reminds me of the joke:
    Q.
What is worse than a girraffe with a sore throat?
    A.
An elephant with a runny nose.

Sorry for the jungle humor as I keep it politically correct, right?

  3. What a pleasant surprise to find an open blog, just for Tuesday. How delightful, could this be a new trend for the Sheriff? A new daily blog for each and every day? That could be so much fun, just think of the opportunities, not just to get the 5ths mind you, but to hear from each and everyone of you what a P & P day you are having. I mean just look, legal starts with a cute animal joke and BeeJay with her weather report & exercise program. What could be coming next? Inquiring minds...

  10. I’ll still have a cocktail or 6 but I stopped smoking January 15th. Forced to, they won’t let you smoke in the hospital.

  12. SER, good for you! In many ways, smoking was harder for me to quit than drinking.

Thank you, everyone. Not tooting my own horn about success against booze is part of my recovery, but for some reason, this one sticks out. I've completely forgotten about some previous anniversaries. 20, if I make it, should be the big one. However, I know a guy who just celebrated 36 years sober.

Thank you, again. It really is done one day at a time. I can't promise anybody 19 years of anything. But, one day at a time, I have not picked up a drink. If I don't drink the first one, I don't have to drink all the rest.

  13. I'm very happy for you, orbs. Demons are not easy to beat. Quitting smoking was very hard for me. Took several attempts before I actually made it. I don't recall a date, but it has been more than 26 years. Hoping the lungs are pink!
