See y'all in the morning light. Blogging from bed again. Did anyone else see the magnificent pass of the ISS this evening? It was so bright, I swear you could make out the arms.

Here is something to ponder...On the space theme, why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt?

I have absolutely nothing against food stamps (now the quest card?) for those who find themselves in an unthinkable situation; however, the emergency aspect of this has been ridiculously abused. This should be a temporary fix to a problem. Making this available as a lifestyle choice is what makes everyone ticked off.

The U.S. wastes so much food. I can't remember the percentage total of all food produced that I recently heard, but it is grossly huge. We can afford to feed every hungry/needy person without it ever touching anyone's pocketbook. This is shameful.

I remember as a child, we were not 'of means,' but my parents worked tremendously hard to make sure we were never hungry. Where has that mentality gone? There used to be an embarrassing aspect associated with taking surplus foods. On a few occasions, my parents had to suck up their pride, and even as kids we understood their sacrifice and appreciated it.

You might not be totally crazy, kk. If you crank through the math, using the size of the ISS and its orbital distance as it passes overheard, it is on the ragged edge of what the human eye can resolve. Some people can see a bit of a shape to it naked eye and it is easy to start picking out the shape with binoculars.

We didn't get a good pass last night here. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday look like the best ones for Tucson in this series.

Legal, Ya got me? I never watched either one of the movies. Can you imagine? Gone With the Wind was subject matter, that I don't care for, and Casablanca was way too sophiscated for me. As kids, we went to movies, but If you asked me what we saw other than Science Fiction, I have NO idea? I miss the days of the (now) corny Sci-Fi's.

Toad, I agree that the cornier the scifi, the better the show, well sort of. How about THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, circa 1951? 20,000 leagues under the Sea, circa 1954, or Journey to the center of the earth circa 1959 ? Those were great movies!!!

Ah,The Day the Earth Stood Still, what a classic.
Better than the remake with Keanu Reeves. That was positively awful. Right up there with the remake of War of the Worlds. Another pitiful remake.

I liked, I think it was called 1 million years BC or something like that...actually who cares, Raquel Welsh was wearing some flimsy cave women outfit the whole time, I don't even remember what the movie was about.

Many moons ago a movie was out called "The Atomic Man" It starred Mickey Rooney. It was a really neat movie, and I don't think they EVER re-run It, and best of my knowledge It was never released to tape or etc.

Mary, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" with Michael Rennie was one of my absolute favorites. "The Time Machine" was right up there with "The Blob" and ALL those great "Godzilla" movies. I want to go BACK to the 50s and 60s. Send In the "Delorian"
