ggodmuls will disappear this Fall, as I won't renew - and I haven't touched it since April - it's even up in the air if I'll stay for long after graduation -
I do a lot of riding around the Slums - I bet property tax revenues collected fall short! Add to that Gateways increase, RUSD'S increase , a probable County increase, and Dickert's coming MAJOR increase - well, you're a SUCKER if you own property in the City of Racine - YOU ARE TRAPPED! Your only out may be to just give it back to the bank - walk away...
"RACINE — The city is headed for a showdown over whether its previously approved prospective union contracts for 2013-2014, which did not include Act 10 collective bargaining changes, are valid"
The idiots are steering the ship - and it's circling aimlessly. You were WARNED - to dump your property while you could... anyone who is left OWNING TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF RACINE - IS THE SUCKER! YOU ARE THE BAGHOLDER!
John, Tom, Greg Helding and Kaplan "Zippy The Pinhead" are headed straight for the ICEBERG!
Can you get on the LIFEBOAT? Or will you go down with Capt. Dickert and his CLUELESS KREW?
Things are not good. Things are not good all over. I am a property home owner. I, unlike chicken little, don't believe the sky is falling. I love Racine, and believe that the good people will endure. Granted, these are tough times: greed is rampant.
As for Act 10, let's be clear that Racine Unified workers are paying more and are in compliance with the law, despite extending an existing contract.
It seems that we are not happy unless we can come up with a doom and "the end is near" mentality. I will continue to vote for whom is the least offensive and try to sort through the lies and hype.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the city worker contracts and the deficit. How come we have money for 300K bathrooms and unlimited legal funding for Dickert's personal lawsuits, but not enough to pay our own employes?
Dickert and the City Council were widely warned about the effects of signing contracts before knowing what the outcome of looming cuts would be. Of course, it was done for political reasons, to get the union vote in the mayoral election. Now we have to pay the piper. This is how pols fuck with our lives whether we are involved in the political process or not.
At least Becker had the decency to resign. Dickert's narcissism won't let him. I'm thinking maybe Racine will be the first city in Wisconsin to go bankrupt.
See the Dickert Trolls panic when info they dislike comes out. Best of them are are the You got to believe, I'll tell that to my neighbors as they try to find the cash to pay the Bills.
Looks like a GREAT SITE!

I'm glad that Racine has a strong and active blogging community. One way or another, the truth gets out.

ReplyDelete$2M deficit right now - who pays?
Protect yourself!!!
Ser, Full throttle to the rumor machine and Orbs will do the rest!
ReplyDeleteAs for doom and gloom, until more individuals are willing to take on rightful causes, there will continue to be despair.
Look at Racineuncovered's efforts to make positive changes one block at a time.
