Four for Fridays

Hello everybody! Welcome back to Four for Fridays after an interesting week. Strange things have been going on... Anyways, here are some questions.

1) Would you rather live in an rural area or in an urban city?

2) Describe your dream house.

3) How would like your dream home landscaped?

4) Where do you go for a walk?

Enjoy your weekend!

I hate going first...Strange things Drew? Inquiring minds...

1. Good question...I like the distractions of a big city, but love the solitude of the country. Right now I'm out in the rural environment, living off the land, like in Green Acres.
2. One with no mortgage on it.
3. With trees, bushes, grass, flowers, some ivy and ground cover, lots of mulch( the good kind, not dyed) some roses, a vegetable garden, a herb garden, possibly some decorative rocks, a water feature with a pond and my favorite -fake pink flamingos all over the place.
4. Mostly to the liquor store and back, really good cardio.

1) We're looking for a place that's inbetween. A place that has a little elbow room yet close enough to take advantage of the good things the city has. Somewhere west of Hwy 31 and east of Hwy H.

2) A ranch house with a stone fire place on the first floor and in the basement. A big kitchen with lots of counter space. A gas stove for me, electric for her. A sunken livingroom. Decorated in "comfortable" not formal.

3) About three acres. A small wooded area,a large vegetable garden, a cutting garden, flowers around the house,(mostly perenials) a three stall out building with a two post lift and storage upstairs. A large deck on the back of the house with a vine covered pegoda over part of it. No pool or hot tub. Shade trees scattered around the yard. Maple, ash, birch, and oak. And friendly, non-obnoxious neighbors.

4) Right now I just walk around the neighborhood with my dog. Soon I will walk around my big awesomely cool backyard. With my dog. Better yet, I'll ride the ATV and the dog can run along side.

1. After driving through Texas to get to New Mexico I determined I am a city girl as I am spoiled. Driving 40 miles to the store is not my cup of tea.
2. My mother-in-laws house. Not too big and in the morning go out on the deck and enjoy the pond and wildlife. Except for the snakes of course.
3. I love flowers and a garden although with the drought it's very difficult to keep anything alive. But lots of flowers.
4. The dog and I walk around our little neighborhood. The other night when it cooled off, we had all the dogs barking. Felt good to be out again.

1) Rural area I really don't care for the city life.

2) Ranch house with a basement for Drew's man cave on a wooded lot with a lake or stream by the house.

3) Trees, wildflowers, by a lake or stream and a lot of wildlife around us.

4) By the lake or in the woods.

I hope you have a great weekend!

1. I'm a city girl, in a city world. Life in plastic, it's fantastic!

2. Clean, spacious, calm and uncluttered. Windows floor to ceiling, overlooking water, big water. Hidden from view, very private. No one knocking on my door. Can run around naked if I want.

3. I want jed's garden, but very modest in size. I don't need a bunch of empty grass to take care of. No sidewalk to shovel. A mostly shady deck would be nice. A small pool might be fun, but only if it comes with a pool boy to take care of it... (hey, you did say we were dreaming!)

4. I've been resting my poor broken foot this summer. I do a lot of walking on my job, miles and miles each day.

1. Good sized city. I like Tucson...it's big enough to have almost everything you could want but still isolated so it's easy to get away from and into remote quiet areas real quick.

2. Self-cleaning and no mortgage.

3. Xeriscaped

4. washes, Saguaro National Park, Mount Lemmon, Sabino Canyon are probably the top ones.

1) I want the advantages of both.

2) Either a cabin in the woods or a condo in Chicago.

3) I like shade gardens and shade, so I'll say wooded.

4) Piggly Wiggly, Pick n Save, K-Mart, etc.

1. It's a toss up. I choose the city, because of, city services. LOL. At THIS point In my life, RURAL sounds GREAT.

2. No more room than necessary for two. A nice yard, with wild animals, etc.

3. Lots of grass, and Blue spruce trees.

4. From my recliner to the potty.

1) As much as I enjoy the convenience of the city, I would rather live in the country.

2) Actually two dream homes... One modern style home with a balcony overlooking a beached lagoon somewhere in the tropics In that yard, I would like a palm tree jungle in the back.

The other a country style A frame home or cabin with balcony with a deck in the back facing a conifer/ deciduous forest. Gotta have some wildflower prairie and a pond somewhere in the picture.

Each home would have room dedicated to a music library (complete with a desk and shelves) and that would be my man cave. A large kitchen with heating coils in the floors and an island. A fireplace in the country home.

3) See number two.

4) I do a lot of walking photographing wildlife. Some my favorite places to go are Schoop Park, Chiwaukee Prairie, Trout Ponds, Samuel Meyers Park and Nicholson Wildlife Refuge.

1. I'd like a happy medium, in a 'burb' somewhere that has plenty of room between neighbors and yet isn't far from civilization, and somewhere with much cleaner air
2. self cleaning or has to come with a maid and no mortgage
3 nice and no maintenance required
pond or mock little river would be cool
4. anywhere with nice scenery

1. Rural area all the way...
2. Craftsman-type....three bedroom, 2-1/2 bath, large front porch, den/office, great room concept with my dream kitchen....four season room off the bedroom with a hot tub and fireplace, and on and on...will be building it in Walhalla, SC. Have the plans already.
3. Minimal lawn...mostly, plantings with proper mulching to avoid WORK! It's in the plan.
4. I walk around my neighborhood...mostly, I bike...but I ALWAYS park far away from the entrance to shopping centers, grocery stores, etc....
