I love Hot Dogs. You guy's want to try something really good. Buy the new "Oscar Mayer New York Style" Dogs. They are not cured, so they don't have the Nitrates, and Nitrites In them, and are WONDERFUL.
Toad, do those have a shorter shelf life than cured dogs?
I don't like regular hot dogs, but I eat a lot of Chicago style hot dogs from Top Dog in downtown Racine. They use Vienna Beef wieners and taste like the dogs I ate in Chicago.
My mom likes Usinger's wieners with natural casings.

Old Wisconsin mades a good one.
Maybe it’s just me but I find this crazy.
You go to the ball game and order a beer and a hotdog. You have a cookout at your house and make burgers and hotdogs for your guests.
But before you can have the cookout you have to go to the store; but you cannot find any hotdogs....they’re called wieners!
Not a fan of meat in casings. Someone must be eating my share. I usually eat one brat a year, just to retain my Wisconsin card.
kk, humans are meat in casings.
