It's strange how puritanical Americans are compared to Europeans. This PSA would never be shown in the USA, but our movies and commercials often contain sex, sex, sex.

Very clever. Certainly gets attention. Only question.... men, did you hear anything she said?

Orbs is correct. I find this commercial much less concerning than the blatant sexual connotation in sales pitches, t.v., music and video promoted to young teens. Sex and violence is certainly becoming ingrained as normal behavior to our youth. You should see the way they dress to come to school. Naked is the new normal.

The trouble with awareness is that if you have it you will probably have surgury. Twice I was ready for surgury..gown, hat, booties, and they discovered it was just a cyst. Both times. VERY SCARY!!!I walked out with a rose (forgot the color) signifying I did not have cancer. How often would you guys go for a scan to see if you had cancer in your peepee, knowing if you did it would be cut off?

Now for my serious response.
Life is full of undesirable choices.
Choices and consequences are a never ending battle against each other.
Cancer is a leading killer for both sexes, cancer is not a choice between the guys and girls, so I suggest to listen to SER.
Any surgery has risks, with both physical and emotional consequences.
Think about the idea of a long stemmed rose catheter.

Legal, Now that was profound. YIKES.

I am going to give MY opinion of the apparant mysterious objects, Female Breasts. We recently went through a stupid event where Lady Kate was photographed topless on the beach. Why on Earth does anyone care about the female breast? Because It Is covered, In MY opinion. I have them, and they could be perhaps as nice a some females, but WHO cares NOBODY. Why, because I don't have to cover them. I don't suggest women all of a sudden walk all over the place without covering, men don't actually appear everywhere without shirts either, but by removing the stigma of the bare female breast, would perhaps remove a lot of the resulting problems? Frankly I prefer "Buns" myself. In response to the video. Getting them checked Is certainly a good idea, and remember, one of Planned Parenthoods functions, is screening for Breast Cancer. Vote for President Obama, should you wish to see this program continued.

EVERYONE....and everyone's "parts" that are vulnerable, should be checked for any maladies effecting
the human organism. Men should be
checked for prostate hyperplasia and testicular lesions, and women for cervical and breast abnormalities.

October should not only single out b**bies! Men should bend and cough and be be smoocshed in a "flatening" machine like woman must do. I need to invent this
but need volunteers for testing!!
Joking...haha.

BUT...(I said BUT..haha)

All people are equal!!
In October...all you girls know what to do!!! But ....do you men know what to do???

The American College of Preventive Medicine recommends against routine screening with either the digital rectal exam (DRE) -- where the doctor exams the prostate through a rectal exam -- or the PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test.

Also, fellas, monthly testicular exams done by yourself or a close buddy. Look for swelling, lumps, edema, pain, differences in size of the testicles, back or low abdominal pain, and anything unusual.

If you came out with that long stemmed rose catheter...I hope, at least, the thorns were removed!
thorns were

Geez, I feel like Rip van what's his name... What the heck have I been missing?

kkdither said...

jed, you haven't missed that much... just new people, boobs and testicles. ;>

I get my yearly, even though it isn't fun. The test isn't the worst, its waiting for the results that is nerve wracking.

BLB, lack of maturity is a requirement here.

During my mammogram I wish I had boobs like in the picture. I could just whip them out and put them on the "tray" to be crushed. Unfortunately I am small and have to become a contortionist when I go.
Truthfully though like KK said, the test isn't so bad, it's waiting for the results.

I get the prostate checked regularly, both the PSA and the "bend over" variety. I saw a urologist last year and he gave me the most thorough (and painful) prostate rectal exam I've ever had. Afterwards, I told him we were married.
