Did you know that is the main reason for early failure of your exhaust system? The pipes and muffler never get hot enough to dry up all the moisture in them and they’ll rust out faster.
This happens to people who live close to work or just a short ride to the grocery store etc. It’s a good idea to let them get hot before shutting them off WINTER OR SUMMER. Ever notice the black nasty looking water on the ground by your exhaust pipe?
Oh before I forget, I found another nice place to get together. I know the guy who owns “Dewey’s” on Main & 6th street.
I stopped there this past Friday and Dewey game me a tour of the place, they have a very nice backroom and I told him there are a group of us that get together a few times a years so he said we can use the backroom free of charge. They also serve food and snacks.
SER, you're correct about the exhaust system. I managed a muffler and brake shop in Chicago. Once they started with the stainless steel exhaust systems, though, the muffler business went to hell. My truck is a 1996, 175,000 miles, and it still has the original exhaust system. That's why most of the muffler shops today are full service repair shops.
Just got back from doing some serious birding Up North... Saw a Pileated Woodpecker, 21 Bald Eagles, a Hoary Redpoll, and a Northern Hawk Owl. I am completely wided out!
Cool picture!!!
